Abstract
This study tackles the power of drama as an educational strategy of experiential learning. Although
this power is very well known and used in Western countries, in Spain, it continues having a
minority use with lots of possibilities of implementation in the future. This learning tool is built on
personal experience, promoting learning environments which involve human dimension and integral
development of our abilities in knowledge building. The case study is developed in the context of a
transversal and curricular training program, and it investigates, from the subjective point of view of
the students, to what extend these techniques contribute to the development of basic
competences. The average of 79% shows a room for improvement of 21%, with slight differences by
gender, in which girls register better results, especially in the development of their creativity
capacities and the extent to which they feel motivated to commit themselves to the group
achievements.
