The university training of Education students should include attention to creative competence,
since today’s society needs imaginative teachers, capable of adapting and developing useful and
interesting proposals in their practice. The purpose of the present study was to analyze the effect
of a creative production training program (applied online for six weeks, 36 days) on narrative and
graphic competence, on personal barriers inhibiting creativity and on the self-esteem of Spanish
university students of Education. The evaluation of the program took place before and after the
intervention, using an experimental group (129 students) and a control group (109 students). The
results showed statistically significant differences in narrative and graphic production in the
students participating in the training, supported by their positive subjective impressions six
months after the end of the program. The results are discussed and implications for practice are
offered.
