El sentido barroco de lo real en Suárez

Abstract

Este artículo tiene como objetivo aclarar la noción suareciana de «realidad». Se defenderá la insuficiencia de las lecturas principales del asunto, que constituyen dos bloques enfrentados: el esencialismo objetivista y el existencialismo. El autor considerará que la reflexión sobre lo real en Suárez está soportada por la unidad paradójica de objetividad y existencia: el peso que tiene la dimensión ontológica, la problemática en torno al ens qua ens, impide pensar la realidad desde el plano exclusivo de la creación; pero, al mismo tiempo, lo real guarda una relación necesaria con la existencia. Esta unidad paradójica tiene a su base la tensión entre dos claves barrocas: el mundo considerado como representación, pero sostenida, a su vez, por una clave de bóveda teológica y oculta.

The aim of this paper is to clarify the notion of ‘reality’ in Suárez. It is argued the inaccuracy of the two main readings of the topic, which are opposite to each other: the objectivist essentialism and the existentialism. The author contends that the reflection on reality in Suárez is based on the paradoxical unity of objectivity and existence: the importance of the ontological dimension and the issue about the ens qua ens do not allow to think reality from the exclusive dimension of creation; but at the same time, reality has a necessary relation with existence. This paradoxical unity is based on the tension between two Baroque keys: the world considered as a representation but sustained, in turn, by a theological and occult keystone.
