La historia del arte frente al cambio climático: formar para actuar sobre el patrimonio cultural

Abstract

La historia del arte es un área fundamental para formar en el ámbito del patrimonio cultural, por ello cuenta con asignaturas específicas dentro de sus grados focalizadas en este tema, y participa en la amplia oferta de másteres de especialización que hay activos en las universidades españolas. Ambas vertientes formativas deben contar con unos contenidos actualizados que atiendan las cuestiones que afectan al patrimonio cultural, es en este punto donde cada vez más se pone la atención en el impacto que sobre el mismo va a tener el cambio climático y la necesidad de estar preparados para hacer frente a los efectos adversos que puede potenciar. Bajo estas premisas se planteó la necesidad de abordar un trabajo que analizara la presencia del cambio climático en los planes de estudios actuales dentro del radio de acción de la historia del arte. Los resultados obtenidos, derivados del estudio de sus guías docentes, pusieron de relieve que es una línea considerada de manera parcial apenas tratada. Esa situación nos puso ante el objetivo de fijar un marco de actuación para incluir al cambio climático en estos estudios a través de unos ejes temáticos que deben buscar conocer sus consecuencias, pero también aportar soluciones.

History of art is a key area for training in the field of cultural heritage, reason why it covers specific subjects within its degrees focused on this topic and participates in the wide range of specialized active master’s degrees in Spanish universities. Both educational approaches must include up-to-date content that address the issues concerning cultural heritage. It is at this point where attention is increasingly focused on the impact that climate change will have on it, as well as the need to be prepared to deal with the adverse effects it may cause. The need to undertake a study that would analyse the presence of climate change in current curricula within the sphere of action of art history arose under these premises. The results obtained, developed from the study of their teaching guides, highlighted the fact that it is a line that is only partially considered and barely dealt with. This situation led us to aim to establish a framework for action that includes climate change in these studies by means of thematic areas that should seek not only to understand its consequences but also to provide solutions.
