Oteando la palabra. Aproximaciones a la idea de paisaje en la poesía hispánica del siglo XX

Abstract

El tema del paisaje (asociado a la arquitectura) puede rastrearse fácilmente en la historia de la literatura. Si ponemos el foco sobre la palabra poética en las letras hispánicas durante el siglo XX, es posible encontrar relaciones de contigüidad, analogía y correspondencia entre algunas de las ideas que marcan el transcurso de las vanguardias a la posmodernidad. Si la generación del 98 inventa en gran medida una idea del paisaje español, el siglo XX será testigo de sucesivas transformaciones de dicho concepto: la emotiva concreción de Machado, la tradición y el surrealismo de Lorca, los paisajes conceptuales tendentes a la abstracción de Valente, los artificios borgianos, las nuevas tendencias poéticas a caballo entre el siglo XX y el XXI… Múltiples ejemplos de la poesía hispánica contemporánea cuya aportación a este debate puede leerse desde un prisma coincidente con lo arquitectónico.

The theme of landscape (associated with architecture) can be easily traced in the history of literature. If we focus on the poetic word in Hispanic letters during the twentieth century, it is possible to find relationships of contiguity, analogy and correspondence between some of the ideas that mark the course of the avant-garde to postmodernity. If the generation of 98 largely invented an idea of the Spanish landscape, the 20th century will witness successive transformations of this concept: the emotional concretion of Machado, the tradition and surrealism of Lorca, the conceptual landscapes tending to the abstraction of Valente, Borgian artifices, new poetic trends straddling the 20th and 21st centuries... Multiple examples of contemporary Hispanic poetry whose contribution to this debate can be read from a point of view that coincides with the architectural one.
