El problema de Dios en ‘El método’ de Edgar Morin

Abstract

Morin elabora un pensamiento fundamentado en los avances de las ciencias, al tiempo que se implica en una teorización metacientífica, que articula saberes, relaciona aspectos heterogéneos, integra la experiencia humana y sopesa la buena opción ética. Al hilo de estos desarrollos, encontramos en él frecuentes alusiones al tema de la religión y la cuestión de Dios, respecto a lo cual suele mantener las posiciones críticas típicas de la Ilustración, si bien otorga mayor importancia al pensar mítico y simbólico. Desde un concepto crítico de "religión", al que él mismo contribuye, Morin no parece ofrecer una respuesta sistemática sobre el problema teológico, aunque sí confiesa su interés por explorar la finitud del mundo, a través de todas las sendas vividas e imaginadas, hasta topar con los límites cognitivos, donde se interroga ante las puertas infranqueables del misterio.

Morin's thought is based on advances in science, but at the same time he is involved in a meta-scientific theorizing, which articulates different ways of knowing, relates heterogeneous aspects, integrates human experience, and weighs the good ethical choice. In line with these developments, we find in him frequent allusions to the topic of religion and to the question of God, in relation to which he usually supports the typical critical positions of the Enlightenment, even if he gives a greater importance to mythical and symbolic thinking. From a critical concept of "religion", to which he also contributes, Morin does not seem to offer a systematic reply regarding the theological problem, although he does admit his interest in exploring the finitude of the world, passing through all the lived and imagined paths, up to reaching the cognitive limits, where he questions himself in front of the impassable doors of mystery.
