Mujeres disfrazadas de varón en la narrativa hispanohebrea y romance del siglo xiii

Abstract

En la narrativa hispanohebrea y romance del siglo xiii se hallan ejemplos de mujeres que juegan a encubrir sus identidades, disfrazándose de hombres, ya sea por imposición o motu proprio. Es lo que ocurre en «Lo que le sucedió a Yašefeh y a sus dos amadas» de Ya‘aqob ben ’El‘azar, el fabliau «Berengier au lonc cul», el Libro de Silence de Heldris de Cornuälle, y Aucassin y Nicolette, entre otros textos. El presente trabajo intenta dilucidar cómo se configuran estas nuevas identidades y qué implican estas performances en el contexto de la literatura del Medioevo.

In Hispano-Hebrew and Romance Fiction from the Thirteenth-Century there are examples of women who hide their identities disguising themselves as men, either by force or by their own will. This is what occurs in «What Happened to Yašefeh and his Two Loved Ones» by Ya‘aqob ben ’El‘azar, the fabliau «Berengier of the long ass», Heldris of Cornwall’s Romance of Silence, and Aucassin and Nicolette, among other texts. This paper aims to examine how these new identities are created and the implications that these performances have in the context of medieval literature.
