De la Weissenhoff a Oporto, un camino de servicio

Abstract

Los arquitectos de las vanguardias lucharon para lograr diseñar viviendas eficientísimas, económicas y funcionales. Les movía, sobre todo la responsabilidad social. Sus logros son ahora patrimonio asumido, pero algunos se han ido desvirtuado; perdida la preocupación social, a veces son ya simples recetas, que se adaptan a la vida de la nueva burguesía, que en occidente hoy comprende a una inmensa parte de la población; sin embargo el crecimiento mundial global y las migraciones obligan a pensar de nuevo en ahorrar espacio y en lo que es realmente necesario; y en términos solidarios; así vuelven a adquirir vigencia algunas de las notas características de aquellos diseños, hoy olvidadas o quizás nunca completamente asumidas. Desde esa óptica las figuras de Taut y Oud vuelven a brillar, y lucen en obras de reciente factura, de Siza y Rocha, que nos muestran la actualidad de aquellos principios, y la conveniencia de su aplicación.

From that point of view, the figures of Taut and Oud shine again, and they shine in works of recent invoice, of Siza and Rocha, that serve to show the validity of the principles, and the convenience of their application.
