Conocimientos y actitudes de estudiantes universitarios hacia la diversidad de género y la diversidad sexual en un contexto multicultural

Abstract

Se ha realizado esta investigación con el objetivo de analizar los conocimientos y las actitudes hacia la diversidad de género y la diversidad sexual que poseen los estudiantes universitarios del Campus de Melilla. Para ello se ha empleado una metodología cuantitativa empírico-analítica, basándose en estudio Ex post facto de tipo correlacional. La muestra está compuesta por 251 participantes y se diseñó un instrumento ad hoc para esta investigación. Los resultados muestran que, en su mayoría, los universitarios muestran conocimientos y actitudes respetuosas hacia la temática, aunque se debe destacar la diferencia, especialmente actitudinal, en función de la variable religión, siendo los agnósticos/ateos los que muestran las actitudes más tolerantes y abiertas hacia el colectivo LGTBIQ+. Además, se observan diferencias en función de la orientación sexual de los participantes, tanto en los conocimientos sobre la temática como en las actitudes hacia este colectivo, siendo los homosexuales los que presentan más conocimientos y actitudes más respetuosas que los heterosexuales. Por tanto, se corroboró la necesidad de seguir investigando sobre la temática protagonista de este estudio.

This research has been carried out with the aim of analysing the knowledge and attitudes towards gender and sexual diversity held by university students at the Melilla Campus. For this purpose, a quantitative empirical-analytical methodology has been used, based on ex post facto correlation studies. The sample is composed of 251 participants and an ad hoc instrument was designed for this research. The results show that, in their majority, university students show knowledge and respectful attitudes towards the subject, although the difference should be highlighted, especially attitudinal, depending on the religion variable, being the agnostics/atheists those who show the most tolerant and open attitudes towards the LGTBIQ+ collective. In addition, there are differences depending on the sexual orientation of the participants, both in knowledge of the subject and in attitudes towards this group, with homosexuals showing more knowledge and more respectful attitudes than heterosexuals. Therefore, the need for further research on the main theme of this study was confirmed.
