El trabajo con las fuentes históricas y su utilización didáctica

Abstract

El objetivo de la Historia es reconstruir el pasado. Para conseguirlo, los historiadores necesitan recurrir a las fuentes históricas, es decir, a los restos del pasado que nos informan sobre lo ocurrido en épocas anteriores. El trabajo con las fuentes históricas también puede convertirse en un excelente recurso educativo para desarrollar el pensamiento histórico del alumnado. Sin embargo, en los libros de texto de historia se ha concedido demasiada importancia a la descripción superficial de las fuentes históricas, obviando la mirada crítica. Por ello, con el objeto de acercarnos críticamente al trabajo con las fuentes históricas, se presentan en este documento varias actividades orientadas al trabajo con las fuentes diseñadas con el objetivo de promover el pensamiento histórico.

The aim of the History is to rebuild the past. To achieve this, historians need to use historical sources, or in other words the remnants of the past that tell us about what happened in previous eras. Working with historical sources could also be an important educational resource to develop the historical thinking of the students. Nevertheless, the history textbooks have given too much importance to superficial descriptions of historical sources, ignoring the critical look. For this reason, and with the purpose of approaching to the knowledge of working critically with historical sources, here are presented a series of activities oriented to the work with historical sources and designed to develop the historical thinking.
