Piroarte. Correspondencia entre el uso del material y la formulación del proyecto: la cicatriz del fuego

Abstract

Este proyecto pretende ser un acercamiento a la pólvora como material artístico-plástico, así como una presentación formal de mi trabajo, desde el proceso hasta la obra final. En ningún momento pretende ser el descubrimiento de un nuevo material para el mundo del arte. Durante los dos últimos años de mi carrera me centré en la pólvora como material artístico-plástico, como material para crear arte. Lo que comenzó de forma casual, por azar, fue tomando forma, solidificándose en algo real. Tras años de experimentación e investigación, los resultados aquí presentes demuestran que sí es posible crear arte a partir de un material tan particular como es la pólvora. Como si de un trabajo de alquimia se tratara, comprenderemos la composición de la pólvora, así como cada uno de los materiales que la conforman, azufre, nitrato/cloruro y carbón. Mezclando cantidades distintas de estos elementos, se realizarán una serie de test para dar con la mezcla que más se adecue a la exigencia requerida. De la misma manera, daremos con el soporte más adecuado para que la pólvora se exprese tal cual es, libre, presuntuosa y rebelde. Tras una serie de exposiciones, el trabajo con la pólvora evoluciona. En ese sentido veremos como a raíz de añadir una serie de elementos, el resultado plástico de la obra, cambia por completo. En este punto, se podría decir que se abre un nuevo camino y ese camino es el que dará como resultado una nueva obra.

Abstract: This Project an approach to gunpowder as an artistic plastic material and a presentation of my work from the beginning of the process to the final piece of art. It does not pretend to seem to discover a new material for the World of Art.

The last two years of my career, i have been focusing on the use of gundpowder as artistic plastic material, and such, a material to creart art. Som thing that began casually, at random, started to take shape, turning into real.

After years of experimentation and investigation, the results i am showing you here demostrate that it is posible to créate art from such an unusual material as the gunpowder.

As if it was a chemical research, we will get to understand the composition of the gunpowder, and will do so of each material that shape it : Sulphur, Nitrate/Chloride and Carbon. Mixing different quantities of these materials, a range of test will be performed to find the mix that is the best meet the requirements. The same way we will search for a material that best bears the gunpowder to be able to show itself as it is: free, presumptuous and rebel.

After a number of expositions, my work with the gunpowder has evolved. Adding a few new elements change the plastic result of the final artwork completely. At this point, a new path begins and this path will lead yo a new piece or art.
