El Caribe es otro Mediterráneo (o la condición trasatlántica al lezámico modo)

Abstract

La reflexión cultural que acompañó y fundamentó la obra literaria de Lezama puede ser leída como uno de los diálogos transatlánticos, transhistóricos y transartísticos más sobresalientes establecido entre el Caribe, porque aquella “ínsula distinta e indistinta a la vez en el cosmos”, desde la que siempre pensó, se erige en su obra como el centro de un tejido dinámico de transculturaciones que contribuyó a renovar un discurso de identidad que en su momento constituía ya una tradición en la que casi todo parecía estar dicho.

The cultural reflection that accompanied and that was based on Lezama’s literary work can be read as one of the most excellent transatlantic dialogues, ‘through-historical’ and ‘through-artistic’ established inside the Caribbean, because that “island different and indistinct at the same time in the cosmos”, where he always thought, is raised in his work as the center of a ‘trans-culture’s’ dynamic fabric that contributed to bring up to date a discourse of cultural identity which, in its own time, represented already a tradition where almost everything seemed to be told.
