Del Siglo de oro a Miguel Mihura. La contribución de Iulía Iatridi a la recepción de la literatura española en Grecia.

Abstract

El presente artículo analiza la contribución de la hispanista Iulía Iatridi (1914-1996) a la difusión de las letras hispanas en Grecia. Con su actividad como traductora y como profesora de español, con los programas de radio que dirige, su colaboración con las revistas Νεα Εστία y Ευθύνη y sus contactos personales con figuras de las letras españolas, Iatridi dio a conocer en Grecia parte considerable de la cultura española. Nuestro estudio recoge y valora este esfuerzo suyo multilateral, ocupándose al mismo tiempo de su obra narrativa, que presenta influencias de la literatura y la historia españolas. T Así, se concluye afirmando que, a juzgar por el tamaño, calidad y amplitud de su obra de traducción, Iatridi representa hoy una de las más sobresalientes figuras del hispanismo griego. This article analyses the contribution of the hispanist Julia Iatridi (1914-1996) in the diffusion of spanish literature in Greece.With her work as translator and professor of the spanish language, her radio programs, her collaboration with the litterary reviews Νέα Εστία and Ευθύνη and her personal contacts with famous spanish writers, Iatridi introduced an important part of the spanish culture to Greece. Our paper sums up and appraises her multilateral effort, discussing at the same time about her prose work which presents influences from the spanish literature and history. Thus, we conclude with theaffirmation that, judging by the quantity, the quality and the amplitude of her work in translation, Iatridi nowadays represents one of the most important delegate of the greek hispanic studies.
