La mention de Pascal à l'opuscule de Leibniz intitulé Meditationes de Cognitione, Veritate et Ideis

Abstract

El breve escrito de Leibniz titulado Meditationes de Cognitione, Veritate et Ideis contiene una referencia imprecisa a la obra De l'esprit géométrique (= De Ingenio Geometrico) de Pascal. Este fragmento aparece recogido por Antoine Arnauld en su tratado La Logique ou l'Art de penser (= De arte bene cogitandi). Sin embargo, hasta ahora no se ha conseguido identificar la referencia exacta del texto de Arnauld al que hace alusión el opúsculo leibniziano. Nosotros creemos que este pasaje de Pascal se puede encontrar en la Quatrième Partie, Chapitre II, págs. 377-378, del referido Tratado de Lógica arnauldiano; puede allí, en efecto, leerse la locución adverbial "vn peu", que Leibniz traduce al latín por medio del adverbio "parumper".

This fragment is quoted by Antoine Arnauld in his logics treatise La Logique ou l'Art de penser. Nevertheless, till now it hasn't been possible to identify the exact reference to Arnauld's text to which leibnitian short writing is addressing. We believe that Pascal's passage can be found in the Quatrième Partie, Chapitre II, pages 377-378, of the above mentioned Arnauld's Logics Treatise; in fact, you can read there the adverbial locution "vn peu", that Leibniz translates into Latin through the use of the adverb "parumper".
