Abstract

CIRCLES pone de relieve la estrecha y delicada relación de lo humano con su entorno. A través de la acción y el desdoble del personaje central el metraje se adentra en cuestiones cruciales como la ecología, la identidad o la memoria. Circles es un ensayo audiovisual sobre la continuidad, la obcecación y la resistencia. Tres circunstancias antagonistas que se activan a lo largo del dispositivo evolutivo dando lugar tanto al ser gregario comprometido, como ese otro, aislado, que vive el libre albedrío. Las imágenes, evocadoras en cualquier caso, surgen como una llamada a la memoria; una especie de mirada inadvertida de los otros —esos habitantes que habitaron antes los mismos espacios y parajes— en un espacio redimensionado a través del tiempo. Por tanto, la imagen es permanente, y obedece a reglas primigenias que nos acercan a la naturaleza y lo salvaje.

CIRCLES highlights the close and delicate relationship of humans with their environment. Through the action and the unfolding of the central character, the footage delves into crucial issues such as ecology, identity or memory. Circles is an audiovisual essay on continuity, stubbornness and resistance. Three antagonistic circumstances that are activated throughout the evolutionary device giving rise to both the committed gregarious being, and that other, isolated one, who lives free will. The images, evocative in any case, emerge as a call to memory; a kind of inadvertent gaze of others —those inhabitants who previously inhabited the same spaces and places— in a space that has been resized over time. Therefore, the image is permanent, and obeys primitive rules that bring us closer to nature and the wild.
