Ushiro

Abstract

La serie fotográfica Ushiro alude a un tiempo pasado, a una circunstancia vivida, a un ser que permanece en un presente continuo desde su imagen capturada. El relato despliega, organiza y categoriza, las distintas imágenes que suponen esta taxonomía sobre el tránsito a través de la ritualización del cuerpo. Una transformación que no es ajena a la influencia de una cultura globalizada y que orienta todo el proyecto hacia una instrumentalización y deconstrucción de esta cultura común. En definitiva, Ushiro es un ‘mirar hacia atrás’ ante la necesidad de recomponer el relato de los gestos desde la perspectiva de lo vivido, e intentar reconstruir una memoria abordando, sin complejos, la inevitable soledad del ser.

The photographic series Ushiro alludes to a past time, to a lived circumstance, to a being that remains in a continuous present through its captured image. The narrative unfolds by organizing and categorizing the different images that constitute this taxonomy of transition through the ritualization of the body. This transformation is not detached from the influence of a globalized culture and directs the project toward the instrumentalization and deconstruction of this shared cultural framework. Ultimately, Ushiro represents a “looking back” prompted by the need to recompose the narrative of gestures from the perspective of lived experience, and to attempt a reconstruction of memory by openly confronting the inevitable solitude of being.
