A Review of Survey-Based research on interpreting quality using two models by Franz Pöchhacker

Abstract

This chapter focuses on interpreting quality research, one of the many topics studied by Franz Pöchhacker. First, two of his models will serve as tools for analysing the conditioning factors which have been addressed in this field. It is shown how individual research and broader project and research team contributions have yielded new insights by introducing innovative research methods in expectation and evaluation studies. More recently, quality research has incorporated interdisciplinary perspectives to explore the factors that condition evaluators’ perceptions. After discussing some key studies in this regard, the chapter describes a research project which applies implicit theories to reveal the impact of the receiver’s perspective on his or her evaluation of a given interpretation.

Es un reto no resuelto definir la calidad en interpretación (I), desafío importante también para su aplicación transversal. Es la calidad línea de investigación más cohesionada y fructífera desde los 80. Prueba de ello son la repercusión de congresos internacionales sobre el tema (p.ej. https://qinv.ugr.es/iciq3-es.htm), proyectos de investigación nacionales (https://ecis.ugr.es/investigacion/proyectos/historico) e internacionales (https://quasi.univie.ac.at/), numerosas tesis doctorales sobre el tema, etc. En este trabajo se plantea la contribución de los modelos de Pöchhacker (1994) (1-de hipertexto; 2 constelación de actantes) al análisis del contexto y el proceso de la I y de la calidad en I. Y, por tanto, se actualizan según los nuevos contextos de trabajo, como son la I simultánea remota y la dimensión de los factores que afectan a la percepción/producción de una I.
