La fotografía como documento social y humanista. Razones y reflexiones sobre el documento fotográfico

Abstract

Este artículo aborda el tema de la fotografía como documento social y humanista y analiza diferentes teorías sobre la imagen y la representación fotográfica como documento, abordando la fotografía desde su aparición a la actualidad en sus diferentes técnicas y formatos. El objetivo de esta investigación es argumentar la fotografía como documento social y humanista, que es útil para enseñar, concienciar y crear memoria visual colectiva, pues es testimonio transmisible de una comunidad social. La metodología utilizada es de tipo cualitativo y de estilo teórico-práctico; para desarrollarla, se analizan textos de autores fundamentales en el estudio del documento fotográfico y se presenta un grupo de fotografías de corte humanista, de creación propia y exclusiva de uno de los autores de este texto. This article addresses the topic of photography as a social and humanist document and analyzes different theories about the image and photographic representation as a document, addressing the photography from its appearance to the present in its different techniques and formats. The objective of this research is to argue photography as a social and humanist document, which is useful for teaching, raising awareness and creating collective visual memory, since it is a transmittable testimony of a social community. The methodology used is qualitative and theoretical-practical in style. Texts by fundamental authors in the study of the photographic document are analyzed to develop it and a group of humanistic photos created exclusively by one of the authors of this text is presented.
