Abstract
The analysis of text complexity represents an important field of research and work for various disciplines such as linguistics, first and foreign language didactics or computational linguistics. Text complexity also plays a central role in the EU-funded project ”Level-Adequate Texts in Language Learning”, which aims to promote the reading competence of learners of German as a foreign language by developing innovative materials and online tools. This article shows how experts from the fields of second language didactics, computational linguistics, language assessment and e-learning work together in this research project and how text complexity is interpreted and handled practically in these disciplines.
