El ejercicio de resistencia es un importante modulador de la máxima tasa de oxidación de grasas (MFO). Sin embargo en la prescripción del ejercicio, las zonas de transición metabólica no son consideradas en la relación MFO-ejercicio. La percepción subjetiva del esfuerzo (RPE), es un indicador valido y confiable del ejercicio a distintas intensidades, pero su idoneidad de uso como indicador sobre la intensidad donde se produce la máxima tasa de oxidación de grasas (Fatmax), no ha sido completamente abordada.
El propósito de nuestro estudio fue analizar la influencia de diferentes métodos de entrenamiento de resistencia sobre la Fatmax y la intensidad donde ésta se alncaza. Y en segundo lugar, determinar si existe un valor de RPE asociada a dicha intensidad.
