La música en el Subtitulado para sordos. Analogías intersemióticas

Abstract

La traducción accesible es una modalidad reciente dentro de los Estudios de Traducción que abarca una amplia gama de productos, incluyendo audiodescripción para ciegos (AD), subtítulos para sordos SpS), lenguaje simplificado e Interpretación de Lengua de Signos Española (ILSE), entre otras modalidades emergentes. En este estudio se aborda el subtitulado para sordos (SpS) de películas, profundizando en la importancia del papel de la música dentro del género fílmico de los musicales, estudiando el empleo de asociaciones intersemióticas y su valor cognitivo como recurso para llevar la música a las personas sordas.

Accessible translation is a recent modality within Translation Studies. It covers a wide range of products, including audio description for the blind (AD), subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing (SDH), simplified language and Spanish Sign Language Interpreting (ILSE), among other emergent modalities. In the study we present here we deal with subtitling of films for the deaf, analyzing the importance of the role of music in subtitling for the deaf within the film genre of musicals. We will focus on the use of intersemiotic associations and their cognitive value as a resource for bringing cinematic music to deaf people.
