Titanocene carboxylate 1 is an excellent chemoselective reagent for
unprecedented a-regioselective Barbier-type reactions. It constitutes the
first titanocene(III) able to tolerate epoxides and readily reduced carbonyl
compounds, such as aromatic and a,b-unsaturated aldehydes.
