El presente libro elabora un estudio integral sobre
las bases sociales e institucionales que sustentaron el
régimen franquista en Andalucía partiendo del análisis
del proceso de acentuación de las luchas agrarias
y las fracturas políticas e ideológicas que acabaron
provocando una profunda división en la sociedad rural
andaluza. En un contexto de creciente radicalización de
las posturas políticas exhibidas tanto por la gran patronal
agraria como por los jornaleros, la Guerra Civil ahondó
aún más las divisiones sociales y produjo un profundo
deseo de revancha entre importantes segmentos de las
clases medias agrarias. Una vez instaurado el régimen
franquista, las clases patronales exigieron la puesta
en práctica de una intensa labor represiva, dirigida
contra los campesinos más combativos y encaminada a
restaurar el orden agrario tradicional.
