KAIRÓS. Arte Contemporáneo

Abstract

KAIRÓS es un programa expositivo que cuenta con la participación de diecinueve artistas españoles bajo el comisariado de Fernando Barrionuevo y la dirección de programas de Rosa Muñoz Bustamante, responsables ambos de la almeriense galería MECA Mediterráneo Centro de Arte. La muestra versa sobre el concepto de individuación: ¿qué es el trabajo creativo sino la búsqueda del individuo, de aquello particular que nos singulariza? Bajo el título Kairós, ese término griego que indica el momento en que algo importante sucede, se hace referencia al tiempo en un sentido cualitativo, mientras que Kronos lo era cuantitativamente. Una interesante mirada hacia el foro interno del artista, y así reflexionar sobre aquella actividad que justifica la existencia creativa, generando obras en las que reflejarnos, buscando ese yo oculto que esencia somos. La muestra se concibe como ese lugar de descubrimiento de nuevas capacidades en el arte contemporáneo, como punto de confluencia de talentos. La pluralidad de lenguajes creativos hará partícipes a las diferentes audiencias de una manera natural e intercultural, dando lugar a un gran hipertexto, en el que los artistas participan como generadores del conocimiento.

KAIRÓS is an exhibition programme with the participation of nineteen Spanish artists curated by Fernando Barrionuevo and directed by Rosa Muñoz Bustamante, both responsible for the MECA Mediterráneo Centro de Arte gallery in Almeria. The exhibition deals with the concept of individuation: what is creative work if not the search for the individual, for that particular thing that makes us unique? Under the title Kairos, the Greek term that indicates the moment in which something important happens, time is referred to in a qualitative sense, while Kronos was quantitatively. An interesting look into the internal forum of the artist, and thus reflect on that activity that justifies creative existence, generating works in which to reflect ourselves, searching for that hidden self that essence we are. The exhibition is conceived as a place of discovery of new capacities in contemporary art, as a point of confluence of talents. The plurality of creative languages will involve the different audiences in a natural and intercultural way, giving rise to a great hypertext, in which the artists participate as generators of knowledge.
