Las relaciones hispano-marroquíes y la enseñanza del árabe marroquí: El legado didáctico de los arabistas

Abstract

Los materiales didácticos de árabe marroquí elaborados en España surgieron en el siglo XVIII y continúan elaborándose en la actualidad. Estos trataron de responder a las demandas de la sociedad española durante el Protectorado y su etapa previa de gestación, y en menor medida, desde finales del siglo XX, surgen otros nuevos en torno al fenómeno de la inmigración y la incorporación del marroquí en universidades. Durante estos poco más de tres siglos el legado didáctico de los arabistas ha sido pionero y novedoso pero también puntual y escaso, pues en buena medida dependió de su implicación en los asuntos coloniales.

Teaching materials for Moroccan Arabic emerged in Spain during Spanish enlightenment and are still being developed today. These materials tried to respond to the demands of Spanish society during the Protectorate and the period leading up to it. Since the late 20th century, new materials started to be devised. Moroccan immigration to Spain and the incorporation of Moroccan Arabic to the curriculum of certain university degrees in Spain are among the main driving forces of these renewed didactic efforts. During the last few centuries, the teaching legacy of Spanish Arabists has been relevant and original but also scarce, since their contributions largely depended on their involvement in colonial affairs.
