Abstract
La población chicana está compuesta por los mexicano que viven por la frontera entre los Estados Unidos y México. Esta
población se ha tenido que enfrentar, históricamente, a muchos obstáculos en su camino. La extorsión, la pobreza y la falta de educación son algunos ejemplos de las injusticias que caracterizan sus vidas.
Todas estas acciones, injustas a todas luces, son en gran parte el producto de los diferentes prejuicios y estereotipos que han sido
promulgados originalmente en forma escrita primariamente y oral secundariamente.
El caleidoscopio de la identidad la gentes de veinte países, diferentes grupos étnicos, religiones y con distintos acentos. Y es en esta complejidad latina donde la literatura chicana pugna por encontrar su propia identidad.
