“La islamización y arabización de Madīnat Ilbīra”

Abstract

En este capítulo de libro, analizamos toda lo que se conoce de la Historia de Madinat Ilbira desde su fundación hasta su abandono en pro de la construcción de madīnat Garnāta. Para ello, fundamentalmente hacemos uso de las fuentes escrita con el objeto de reflejar tanto los acontecimientos políticos como la estructura del poder en la ciudad y el territorio. Asimismo, se describen determinados aspectos urbanísticos y relativos a la composición étnica y social mediante estadísticas recopiladas a partir de los datos de los eruditos, también se ha intentado mostrar la relación entre los datos de número de ulemas y el desarrollo de la ciudad. Sobre la base de estos datos, se cree que Ilbīra vivió sus años dorados entre 850 y 950.

In this book chapter, we analyze all that is known of the history of Madinat Ilbira from its foundation to its abandonment in favor of the construction of Madīnat Garnāta. For this purpose, we fundamentally make use of written sources in order to reflect both political events and the structure of power in the city and the territory. Likewise, certain urbanistic aspects and concerning the ethnic and social composition are described by means of statistics compiled from the data of the scholars, we have also tried to show the relationship between the data on the number of ulema and the development of the city. On the basis of these data, it is believed that Ilbīra experienced its golden years between 850 and 950.
