La investigación científica en el ámbito del trabajo social sanitario

Abstract

Son muchos los obstáculos a los tienen que hacer frente los trabajadores sociales sanitarios cuando deciden iniciarse en investigación científica. No menos que otros profesionales de la salud, a estos hay que añadirles el hecho de no tener la misma consideración y reconocimiento profesional dentro de su ámbito de intervención. Es decir, el sistema sanitario público. Esto se puede extrapolar a otros contextos de la acción profesional, entre ellos, la investigación científica en cualquiera de sus modalidades. Circunstancia esta que repercute en la producción científica y tiene como consecuencia la invisibilidad de dicho colectivo dentro del universo científico. Al igual que origina encasillamientos hermenéuticos y epistemológicos dentro de la misma. La invisibilidad a la que se hace referencia infiere debilidades en la disciplina de Trabajo Social si se compara con el resto de disciplinas de las Ciencias Sociales y las Humanidades y las Ciencias de la Salud. Es necesario yuxtaponer posiciones con estas otras disciplinas de mayor tradición investigadora que permitan erigir rigurosidad metodológica y calidad investigadora al Trabajo Social. Tras la argumentación de los discursos planteados con este análisis se puede finalizar afirmando que: ha de ser objetivo primordial de las distintas administraciones sanitarias promover y potenciar la investigación en los diferentes ámbitos profesionales. Para ello, la financiación (becas o subvenciones) se tiene que convertir en el elemento que avale su prioridad. Solo así, y de manera concomitante, investigación y ciencia podrán ser desarrolladas con garantías de éxito. A la vez que el Trabajo Social Sanitario irá adquiriendo protagonismo y solidez en el campo de la Ciencias Sanitarias y Sociales.

After the argumentation of the discourses raised with this analysis, it can be concluded by stating that: it must be the primary objective of the different health administrations to promote and enhance research in the different professional fields. To do this, financing (scholarships or subsidies) must become the element that supports its priority. Only in this way, and concomitantly, can research and science be developed with guarantees of success. At the same time, Health Social Work will acquire prominence and strength in the field of Health and Social Sciences.
