Un desenlace antimaniqueísta en el Himno a san Demetrio (nº 71) de Romano Melodo

Abstract

El Himno a san Demetrio (nº 71) de Romano Melodo presenta, en su desenlace de la historia del martirio, un excursus sin relación alguna con la leyenda del santo y con las versiones de su hagiografía, que traslada a los fieles oyentes un sentir eminentemente antiherético, en concreto, antimaniqueísta. En este artículo se propone una traducción a la lengua castellana de dicho fragmento griego y se analiza la digresión por parte del autor del texto hímnico, con el objeto de arrojar luz sobre el contexto de producción y ejecución del kontákion en honor del santo tesalonicense

The Hymn to St. Demetrios (nº 71) by Romanos the Melodist presents in its denouement of the story of the martyrdom an excursus entirely unrelated to the legend of the saint and the various versions of his hagiography. The excursus conveys a deep antiheretical and anti-Manichaean sense to the listeners. This article offers a Spanish translation of this Greek fragment and analyzes the hymn author’s digression, in order to shed light on the context of the production and execution of the kontakion in honor of the Thessalonian saint
