Abstract
En diversos capítulos correspondientes a tres libros de la obra de Fray Bernardino de Sahagún "Historia de las cosas de Nueva España", escrita en el siglo XVI, se hace referencia del uso y efectos de diversas especies de hongos alucinógenos. Por el análisis de los textos, en la parte relativa a prácticas ceremoniales suministra una importante información, exponiendo su uso y la descripción de los efectos de su consumo. Pese a estar estructurada en varias partes, en conjunto constituye una aportación de primera mano el conocimiento de su utilización en ritos y ceremonias, así como de los efectos que producían al ser consumidos, en las diversas poblaciones indígenas mexicanas que los utilizaban. In the XVI Century, Fray Bernardino de Sahagún, in his work "Historia
de las Cosas de Nueva España", wrote several chapters in different Books of
this work, about the species of hallucinogen fungi. Though they are in different
parts of the work, they give important first hand information about their utilization in religious rites and ceremonies by different Mexican peoples and the
description of their effects.
