Abstract
The aim of this article is to explore the depth of the comic book’s conversational interactions, above all in relation
to the unspoken word. Based on the micro readings of Peggy Adam’s serialized graphic novel Plus au Moins…, this essay
will study the effect of how different manifestations have an impact on the comic’s dialogue by moving progressively from
unintentional silence to a total refusal to communicate verbally. Unspoken words are often more revealing than uttered
speech. We will also take a contrasting look at analogies and implicit differences between film dialogue and comic book
dialogue.
