Los significados de la fiesta. El nacimiento de una cofradía de Senama Santa

Abstract

El artículo estudia la creación de una cofradía de semana santa en los años cincuenta del pasado siglo en la ciudad de Elche (Alicante). Partiendo de la naturaleza compleja de la fiesta se pretende interpretar las razones que llevaron a la creación de una hermandad en un contexto histórico determinado y las significaciones que se documentan en ella. Este análisis habría que vincularlo teóricamente dentro del proceso ritual porque se desarrolla en él y es en su interior donde cobra sentido y relevancia. La sociedad del momento se recrea ideológicamente a partir del ejemplo en lo referido a los estereotipos políticos, con la creación de una organización estamental, jerarquizada en sus normas, al menos formal y simbólicamente.

The article studies the creation of an Easter brotherhood in the fifties in the last century in the city of Elche (Alicante). Beginning in the complex nature of the festivity, we try to interpret the reasons that lead to the creation of a brotherhood in a certain historical context and the significances which are established with documentary evidence in it. This analysis should be theoretically linked to the ritual process, because it is developed in it, and it is within this ritual where it takes on sense and importance. The society at that moment becomes ideologically recreated, starting from the example referring to the political stereotypes, with the creation of a stamental organization, and with a hierarchical structure it its rules, at least formally and symbolically.
