Abstract

La lectura de Una historia del cuerpo en la Edad Media, obra de Jacques Le Goff y N. Truong cuya traducción acaba de aparecer, nos conduce a una exploración de las relaciones entre historia y antropología, tanto desde el punto de vista del antropólogo (Geertz, Goody) como del historiador (Escuela de los Annales). De este modo se ofrece, además, un contexto para la reflexión sobre la dimensión simbólica del cuerpo.

The reading of A History of the Body in the Middle Ages, a work by Jacques Le Goff and N. Truong, whose translation has just appeared, leads to an exploration of the relationship between history and anthropology, from the perspective of the anthropologist (Geertz, Goody) as well as of the historian (School of the Annales). In this way, a context is offered for reflection on the symbolic dimension of the body.
