Zarigüeya: Del animal sagrado al personaje de un álbum ilustrado

Abstract

Zarigüeya: Del animal sagrado al personaje de un álbum ilustrado es un proyecto que busca fundamentalmente replantear el propósito de la representación del animal en el álbum ilustrado infantil para abordar a la zarigüeya como personaje principal. El trabajo es teórico-práctico y se desarrolla en tres fases: La investigación acerca de la zarigüeya donde se identificarán algunos relatos míticos y populares del folclore de ciertos pueblos primigenios de América y las capacidades biológicas e innatas de este animal; la aplicación de una encuesta virtual para determinar qué tanto se conoce y desconoce actualmente sobre la zarigüeya y, finalmente, la creación de un álbum ilustrado dirigido a un público de diversas edades que residan en el continente americano. La elaboración del álbum ilustrado está acorde a lo obtenido en la fase de investigación previa. Es el resultado de un proceso artístico que busca reivindicar la reputación de la zarigüeya, sus capacidades naturales y el patrimonio cultural tejido históricamente a su alrededor como el valioso marsupial nativo de América que es. Con este trabajo se pretende contribuir a su divulgación y protección.

ABSTRACT: Opossum: From the sacred animal to the character of a picture book is a project that fundamentally seeks to rethink the purpose of the representation of the animal in the children's picture book to address the opossum as the main character. The work is theoretical and practical and is developed in three phases: Research into the opossum, identifying some mythical and popular stories from the folklore of certain primitive peoples of America as well as the biological and innate abilities of this animal; the application of a virtual survey to determine how much is currently known and unknown about the opossum and, finally, the creation of an illustrated album aimed at an audience of various ages living on the American continent. The creation of the illustrated album is in line with what was obtained in the previous research phase. It is the result of an artistic process that seeks to vindicate the reputation of the opossum, its natural abilities and the cultural heritage historically woven around it as the valuable native American marsupial that it is. With this work I intend to contribute to its dissemination and protection.
