Abstract
In a city called Havana, people have stopped feeling pain or pleasure.
They live under the effect of a strange anesthesia. Only a Messiah can save
them. Jesusín comes from a town and the staging of the Biblical Passion
takes place again. It is the parousia, the long awaited end of time. Agnieska Hernández Díaz (1977) rewrites those favorite themes of la Generación
Cero: the apotheosis of the flesh (of the eternal and “sacred” zero body),
the intertext, the mapping of an odd country illuminated by a neon light.
