El participante invisible

Abstract

Los familiares y acompañantes de pacientes hospitalizados se comportan como un grupo invisible dentro de una institución tan cerrada como el hospital, que raramente considera formalmente su presencia ni su utilidad, cuando no se dirige a ellos con indiferencia no exenta de comportamientos más agresivos. Estas son las notas de campo tomadas por un enfermero-familiar sometido al calvario de la espera a la puerta de los quirófanos.

A relative of a patient, who is a nurse at the same time, took the some notes when waiting at the door of the operating theatre. He saw the relatives and accompanying persons of hospitalized people behaving as an invisible group in the hospital. This close institution, the hospital, rarely considers formally the presence or utility of the relatives, and some times they are addressed with indifference or even with aggressive behaviors.
