La finalidad de esta tesis es estudiar y caracterizar la variabilidad del valor de
R50, o lo que es lo mismo, del espectro energético de salida de los haces de electrones
generados en los aceleradores lineales de uso clínico, y valorar la introducción del control
estadístico de procesos para monitorizar su estabilidad. Para conseguir este objetivo se
han seguido dos estrategias. La primera es provocar cambios controlados en el espectro
de salida de los haces de electrones de diferentes aceleradores y así comprender mejor
el efecto que esta variación tiene sobre el valor de R50. La segunda es analizar los
resultados de las series históricas de las pruebas de control de estabilidad del espectro
de salida recogidas en el programa de garantía de calidad del Hospital San Cecilio de
Granada. La memoria aborda diferentes cuestiones, por tanto, sobre el espectro del haz
de electrones generado en un acelerador de uso clínico, pero siempre con la variabilidad
del parámetro que lo caracteriza como leitmotiv.
