Abstract
Several members of the family Banū Abī Zamanīn, of berber origin, were jurists between the years 298/910 and 602/1205, a span of almost three centurias. The brothers
outstanding figures. The former, a prestigious faqīh, was the author, among other numerous texts, of four important legal treatises. His brother, the qāḍī Abū Bakr, was the only member of that family involved in a contemporary political event.
