Abstract

Two years ago, in the autumn of 2021, we celebrated the 1st International Seminar on Graphic Research applied to Architecture and Engineering. At that time, we committed to starting a tradition that would lead us to new gatherings with the same objective: to present our research results in a biennial seminar that would bring together professors and researchers from the Department of Architectural Graphic Expression and Engineering (EGAI) at the University of Granada. The time has come, according to the agreed-upon schedule back then, to convene the 2nd International Research Seminar, with the same enthusiasm and willingness as before. Research and knowledge transfer are an essential part of the academic activities shared by the professors and researchers of the EGAI Department. We are part of one of the largest departments at UGR, with 70 professors and researchers (September 2023). This department is characterized by bringing together different areas of knowledge, yet closely aligned in their research objectives, such as Architectural Graphic Expression in Architecture and Construction; Graphic Expression in Engineering; Cartographic, Geodetic, and Photogrammetry Engineering; and Architectural Projects. It is this convergence of research interests that motivates us to seek and foster points of intersection, convergence, and possible interdisciplinary collaborations. The 2nd International Seminar on Graphic Research Applied to Architecture and Engineering of the EGAI Department is convened with the aim of promoting encounters among professors and researchers committed to research. We invite all of you to participate and present your ongoing, finished, or upcoming research results. Participation in the Seminar involves a brief and concise presentation of your research, aimed at sharing knowledge with the rest of the department and the wider academic community, explaining the research topic, its profile, and its potential affiliation with a Research Group, Project, or Contract. This Seminar is conceived with the same intention as the previous one: to create a momentary pause in our teaching and research activities, inviting us to share our work and interest in research with other professors and researchers in the Department. It is intended as an opportunity to hear the diverse and different research lines and profiles collectively offered by the professors of the EGAI Department. Ultimately, this will help us understand the current state of research in our department and, simultaneously, establish alliances that enhance the interest of each research endeavor as we look towards the future in pursuit of new challenges. For these reasons, the Seminar is open to all professors and researchers of the EGAI Department, as well as to the Research Groups and Projects in which its professors are directly or indirectly involved.

Hace 2 años, en otoño del 2021, celebrábamos el 1er Seminario Internacional de Investigación Gráfica aplicada a la Arquitectura e Ingeniería. En aquel momento adquirimos el compromiso de comenzar una tradición que nos llevase a nuevos encuentros con el mismo objetivo, exponer nuestros resultados de investigación en un seminario bianual, que reuniera a los profesores e investigadores del Departamento de Expresión Gráfica Arquitectónica y en la Ingeniería (EGAI) de la Universidad de Granada. Ha llegado el momento, conforme a este calendario entonces acordado, de convocar el 2º Seminario Internacional de Investigación, con el mismo ánimo y la misma voluntad de entonces. La investigación y la transferencia de conocimiento son parte ineludible del quehacer académico que compartimos los profesores e investigadores del Departamento EGAI. Formamos parte de uno de los departamentos más grandes de la UGR, con 70 profesores e investigadores (septiembre 2023). Un Departamento que se caracteriza por aunar distintas áreas de conocimiento, pero próximas en sus objetivos de investigación, como son: Expresión Gráfica Arquitectónica en la Arquitectura y en la Edificación; Expresión Gráfica en la Ingeniería; Ingeniería Cartográfica, Geodésica y Fotogrametría; y Proyectos Arquitectónicos. Es esta confluencia de intereses en la investigación la que nos mueve a buscar y fomentar puntos de encuentro, convergencias y posibles colaboraciones de carácter interdisciplinar. El 2º Seminario Internacional de Investigación Gráfica Aplicada a la Arquitectura e Ingeniería del Departamento EGAI se convoca con el ánimo de promover el encuentro entre profesores e investigadores que mantienen un compromiso con la investigación. A todos ellos, os convocamos para que participéis y expongáis vuestros resultados en curso, ya terminados o próximos a comenzarse. La participación en el Seminario se cifra en una breve y concisa exposición de vuestra investigación/investigaciones, que tenga por objetivo dar conocimiento, al resto del Departamento y al resto de la comunidad académica, del tema de investigación, de su perfil y su posible adscripción a un Grupo, Proyecto o Contrato de investigación. Este Seminario se plantea con la misma intención que el precedente: provocar un momento de pausa en nuestra labor docente e investigadora, invitándonos a compartir, con el resto de profesores e investigadores del Departamento, nuestro trabajo e interés por la investigación. Se plantea por tanto como un encuentro para escuchar las múltiples y diferentes líneas y perfiles de investigación que, en conjunto, ofrecen los profesores y profesoras del Departamento EGAI. Esto facilitará, en definitiva, conocer la situación actual de la investigación de nuestro Departamento y, al mismo tiempo, establecer alianzas que acrecienten el interés de cada investigación para mirar al futuro en la búsqueda de nuevos retos. El Seminario, por estos motivos, se ofrece abierto a todo el profesorado e investigadores del Departamento EGAI y también a los Grupos y Proyectos de investigación en los que participen, directa o indirectamente, sus profesores y profesoras.
