Écrire l'indicible dans Les Impatientes de Djaïli Amadou Amal

Abstract

Con un estilo sencillo y contundente, Djaili Amadou Amal nos sumerge en la historia de tres mujeres cuyos destinos están entrelazados: Ramla, Hindou y Safira, cada una de las cuales sufre las tradiciones patriarcales y misóginas del norte de Camerún, que se resumen en el Pulaanka y Munyal. A lo largo de este estudio, vemos cómo la escritora escribe lo que no se puede decir, para dar voz al sufrimiento silencioso de las mujeres del Sahel. Estas voces nos muestran el proceso cultural por el que las mujeres son disminuidas a través de la violencia hasta ser reducidas al no-ser, es decir, al silencio. Veremos cómo la escritura del silencio desafía todo lo tradicional, y cómo Djaïli Amadou Amal transforma su obra en un arma contra las injusticias de la sociedad patriarcal peul que ella misma ha vivido.

Using a simple, hard-hitting style, Djaili Amadou Amal plunges us into the story of three women whose destinies are intertwined: Ramla, Hindou and Safira, each of whom suffers from the patriarchal and mysogynous traditions of northern Cameroon, which are summed up in the Pulaanka and Munyal traditions that we will develop later. In the course of this study, we shall see how the writer writes what cannot be said, so as to give voice to the silent suffering of the women of the Sahel. These voices show us the cultural process by which women are diminished through violence until they are reduced to non-being, i.e. silence. We will see how the writing of silence challenges all that is traditional, and how Djaïli Amadou Amal transforms her work into a weapon against the injustices of Peul patriarchal society that she herself has experienced.
