El Camino Real de Tierra Fuera. Una pluralidad de patrimonios

Abstract

La articulación territorial de Nueva España fue, desde el mismo momento del contacto con las tierras continentales, una preocupación presente en los recién llegados. Las noticias respecto a la necesidad de la construcción de nuevas vías que facilitaran el tránsito, o del aprovechamiento de infraestructuras existentes que permitieran el desplazamiento de los recién llegados, habla de la coexistencia de dos realidades que acabarían conformando la estructura viaria novohispana. Este texto analiza el trazado del Camino Real de Tierra Afuera y sus múltiples valores patrimoniales.

The territorial articulation of New Spain was, from the very moment of contact with the continental lands, a present concern for the newcomers. The news regarding the need to build new roads that would facilitate transit, or to take advantage of existing infrastructure that would allow the movement of newcomers, speaks of the coexistence of two realities that would end up shaping the New Spain road structure. This text analyzes the layout of the Camino Real de Tierra Afuera and its multiple heritage values.
