abstract = {La producción de poesía con temas propios de la mitología griega ha sido una constante a lo largo de la historia. Ha habido autores que han realizado traducciones fieles y otros que han optado por tomar algunos elementos como personajes, escenarios y acontecimientos y adaptarlos según sus vivencias y creencias. En este trabajo se tratan la traducción de Alexander Pope del Canto XVIII de la Ilíada publicada en el siglo XVIII, el poema de Lord Alfred Tennyson “Ulysses” del siglo XIX y el poema de Wystan Hugh Auden “The Shield of Achilles” del siglo XX. El contexto histórico de cada obra ha provocado que cada una de ellas trate temas concretos y tenga intenciones distintas. Los principales objetivos han sido analizar y comparar estas tres obras además de traducir las dos últimas.},
abstract = {Poetry that contains elements from Greek mythology has been present in history since the classics were written. Some authors translated them closely but there were others who took characters, places and events and adapted them according to their experience and perspectives. The poems talked about in this paper are Alexander Pope’s Iliad (specifically Book XVIII) published in the 18th century, “Ulysses” the poem published by Lord Alfred Tennyson in the 19th century and “The Shield of Achilles” published by Wystan Hugh Auden in the 20th century. Each poem addresses different themes depending on the historical context. The purposes also change in each period. The main aims are to analyse and compare these poems and translate “Ulysses” and “The Shield of Achilles”.},
