The event selection requires the two leptons to have opposite charge, the same flavor (electrons or muons), and a large invariant mass. The analysis is based on the full run-2 proton-proton collision dataset recorded at a center-of-mass energy off root S = 13 TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb(-1). No significant deviation from the expected background is observed in the data. Inspired by the B-meson decay anomalies, a four-fermion contact interaction between two quarks (b, s) and two leptons (ee or mu mu) is used as a benchmark signal model, which is characterized by the energy scale and coupling, Lambda and g(*), respectively. Contact interactions with Lambda/g(*) lower than 2.0 (2.4) TeV are excluded for electrons (muons) at the 95% confidence level, still far below the value that is favored by the B-meson decay anomalies. Model-independent limits are set as a function of the minimum dilepton invariant mass, which allow the results to be reinterpreted in various signal scenarios.}, organization = {ANPCyT}, organization = {YerPhI, Armenia}, organization = {Australian Research Council}, organization = {BMWFW, Austria}, organization = {Austrian Science Fund (FWF)}, organization = {Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS)}, organization = {SSTC, Belarus}, organization = {Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico (CNPQ)}, organization = {Fundacao de Amparo a Pesquisa do Estado de Sao Paulo (FAPESP)}, organization = {Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC)}, organization = {NRC, Canada}, organization = {Canada Foundation for Innovation}, organization = {CERN}, organization = {Agencia Nacional de Investigacion y Desarrollo, Chile}, organization = {Chinese Academy of Sciences}, organization = {Ministry of Science and Technology, China}, organization = {National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC)}, organization = {Minciencias, Colombia}, organization = {MSMT CR, MPO CR}, organization = {MPO CR}, organization = {Committee for Collaboration of the Czech Republic}, organization = {CERN, Czech Republic}, organization = {DNRF, Denmark}, organization = {Danish Natural Science Research Council, Denmark}, organization = {Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS)}, organization = {CEA-DRF/IRFU, France}, organization = {Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia, Georgia}, organization = {Federal Ministry of Education & Research (BMBF)}, organization = {HGF, Germany}, organization = {Max Planck Society}, organization = {GSRI (General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, Greece)}, organization = {RGC, China}, organization = {Hong Kong SAR, China}, organization = {Israel Science Foundation}, organization = {Benoziyo Center, Israel}, organization = {Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (INFN)}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan (MEXT)}, organization = {Japan Society for the Promotion of Science}, organization = {CNRST, Morocco}, organization = {Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO)}, organization = {Netherlands Government}, organization = {Research Council of Norway}, organization = {Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland}, organization = {NCN, Poland}, organization = {Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology European Commission}, organization = {MNE/IFA, Romania}, organization = {JINR}, organization = {Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of Russia}, organization = {NRC KI, Russian Federation}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Science & Technological Development, Serbia}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport, Slovakia}, organization = {Slovenian Research Agency - Slovenia}, organization = {Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Slovenia}, organization = {DSI/NRF, South Africa}, organization = {Spanish Government}, organization = {Swedish Research Council}, organization = {Wallenberg Foundation, Sweden}, organization = {Secretariat for Education and Research, Switzerland}, organization = {Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)}, organization = {Cantons of Bern and Geneva, Switzerland}, organization = {Ministry of Science and Technology, Taiwan}, organization = {Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources - Turkey}, organization = {UK Research & Innovation (UKRI)}, organization = {Science & Technology Facilities Council (STFC)}, organization = {United States Department of Energy (DOE)}, organization = {National Science Foundation (NSF)}, organization = {EU-ESF, Greece}, organization = {Greek National Strategic Reference Framework, Greece}, organization = {BSF-NSF, Israel}, organization = {German-Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development}, organization = {La Caixa Banking Foundation, Spain}, organization = {CERCA Programme Generalitat de Catalunya, Spain}, organization = {Generalitat Valenciana}, organization = {Goran Gustafssons Stiftelse, Sweden}, organization = {Royal Society of London}, organization = {Leverhulme Trust}, publisher = {American Physical Society}, title = {Search for New Phenomena in Final States with Two Leptons and One or No b-Tagged Jets at root S=13 TeV Using the ATLAS Detector}, doi = {10.1103/PhysRevLett.127.141801}, author = {Aad, G. and Aguilar Saavedra, Juan Antonio and Rodríguez Chala, Mikael and Atlas Collaboration}, }
