contrasts. In this paper a translation and study of the representation of the female characters
in the dramatic trilogy Ṭayf al-Jāyāl of Ibn Dāniyāl is provided, with a special focus
on the figure of the go-between Umm Rašīd, her characterization, voice and interaction
with the opposite sex.},
