abstract = {Diversas investigaciones en ciencia cognitiva han mostrado que existen relaciones entre habilidades espaciales y aritméticas. Cheng y Mix (2014) han informado que una corta sesión de formación en habilidades de rotación espacial muestra una influencia positiva sobre habilidades de cálculo aritmético en niños de 6 a 8 años. Los mecanismos que permitan explicar este fenómeno son aún poco claros. Proponemos un análisis de las prácticas y objetos matemáticos idealmente involucrados tanto en tareas de rotación espacial como en tareas de cálculo aritmético. A partir de los análisis de las respuestas plausibles de un sujeto epistémico, encontramos concordancias y conexiones entre los dos tipos de tareas que buscan explicar los mecanismos que subyacen a la relación observada.},
abstract = {Different research in cognitive science has suggested that there exist relationships between spatial and arithmetic skills. Cheng and Mix (2014) have shown that a short training session in spatial rotation skills produces a positive influence on arithmetic skills in 6 to 8 children. The mechanisms that explain this phenomenon are still unclear. We propose an analysis of mathematical objects and practices ideally involved in both spatial rotation tasks and arithmetic calculation tasks. From the analysis of an epistemic subject‟s plausible answers, we find concordances and connections between both types of tasks that seek to explain the mechanisms that underlie the observed relationship.},
