Palma, María Fárima Sarr Marroco, Bilal En este artículo, se presentan los resultados preliminares del proyecto IACAM, de investigación e intervención arqueológica en el yacimiento de Cercas das Alcarías de Mesquita (Mértola, Portugal) en el marco de un proyecto Ibérico financiado por el Ministerio de Cultura de España, el Campo Arqueológico de Mértola y Cámara Municipal de Mértola. Dividido en 4 sectores y dos zonas meridianamente diferenciadas, ermita y entorno y zona de poblado, se han documentado, por una parte, los restos de un complejo constructivo de función eminentemente religiosa, previa a la Ermita de Nossa Senhora das Neves, y por otra, una serie de espacios residenciales con patio que formarían parte de una alquería de hábitat disperso en la ladera y valle. El material recuperado, las estructuras y la documentación nos evocan que estamos ante un espacio rural ocupado desde el siglo XI hasta XIII, con un núcleo religioso reutilizado y/o reconstruido sin solución de continuidad hasta la actualidad. This article presents the preliminary results of the IACAM project of archaeological research and intervention at the site of Cercas das Alcarías de Mesquita (Mértola, Portugal) in the framework of an Iberian project funded by the Ministry of Culture of Spain, the Archaeological Field of Mértola and the Municipal Chamber of Mértola. Divided into 4 sectors and two clearly differentiated areas, hermitage and surroundings and settlement area, we have documented, on the one hand, the remains of a building complex of eminently religious function, prior to the Hermitage of Nossa Senhora das Neves, and on the other, a series of residential spaces with patio that would be part of a farmhouse of dispersed habitat on the hillside and valley.
