ABSTRACT: In this essay I am going to analyse the body of works I have been developing during my artistic career the last few years and the works I have produced throughout this master. I will start contextualising my artwork with the artists that have influenced me like M. C. Escher and Andreas Gursky; I will also include Spanish artists that I have discovered during the master like Dionisio Gonzales and Cinta Vidal. I will also make brief references to various visual artists, writers and pieces that have in a way or another a relationship with my work and conceptual line of thought. The title of the work “Expansive Landscapes” refers to my interest in the natural and urban landscapes explored in my body of work. The title also alludes to the large dimensions of the artworks and my intention to evoke an extensive vision of the panorama that transcends and propagates, a vision that cannot be viewed in single glance. Expansive also refers to those who show and express their feelings and thoughts without hesitations, and the works that I have been producing during the master fit particularly well with this definition since they incorporate a variety of techniques with the purpose of giving more expression and personality to the work. The subtitle, " A Look at the Panorama from Different Points of View ", reflects my interest in geometric perspectives and the possible ways in which reality can be represented by incorporating various spatial positions and variations over time. Even so, the views can be interpreted with the multiple ways in which I understand the panorama through the contextualization of my work with the different artists to which I refer to and with the varied combinations of techniques and formats that I use for its representation. The vision and interpretations of reality changes in the history of Western art with Cézanne, his paintings of simple and synthetic forms describe the way we perceive the world, rather than the world itself. This, along with primitive art, inspired Picasso and Braque to invent Cubism, where many views come together in a single plane, thus showing a more complete reality, raw and free of vanishing points and perspective illusions. With my work I try to bring together the multifaceted characteristics of Cubism with the classical perspectives of the renaissance to create a set of panoramic works that evoke an alternative and complex vision of the spaces and times in which we live. 2020-10-05T10:52:04Z 2020-10-05T10:52:04Z 2020-09 2020-09 info:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesis http://hdl.handle.net/10481/63654 10.30827/Digibug.63654 spa http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/es/ info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess Atribución-NoComercial-SinDerivadas 3.0 España
