There are certain contexts where families have high levels of vulnerability, where there are teenagers with low risk of absenteeism, social exclusion and education. Nowadays, to talk about absenteeism it is necessary to know the factors, variables and family, economical, socio-cultural, and educational indicators that determine students`lives in order to avoid exclusion in vulnerable contexts. This research analyzes the relation between school absenteeism, the family conditions of the absent students, the school environment and the context in which absenteeism takes place. The quantitative approach has been chosen and applied through the survey presented as a structured ad hoc questionnaire. The number of High School students that participated is 409 and all of them coexist in a vulnerable context. The results reveal that the profile of the absent students is mainly of immigrant origin in the third and fourth years of High School; that the absent students spend most part of the day alone at home; a considerable number of absent students have parents that pay no attention to their education, are not interested or have no time to accompany their children (due to their work obligations). As a conclusion, most of the students have a positive perception of the relational environment at school, though there are some students of immigrant origin that do not feel comfortable with the way they are treated by their local classmates and some teachers. Finally, most of the students feel safe at school, though they mention some conflicts among students. 2019-05-02T06:21:29Z 2019-05-02T06:21:29Z 2018-03-01 info:eu-repo/semantics/article Escarbajal Frutos, A.; Izquierdo Rus, T.; Abenza Pastor, B.
