Esos cambios sociales, culturales y políticos se van a reflejar en la narrativa femenina y dan lugar a diferentes tendencias literarias, cuyas autoras más representativas se analizan en el presente artículo. The social role played by women in Tunisia has changed considerably since 1956; it was in this year when a bill of rights concerning women's social status was passed by the Parliament. Cultural, political, and social changes made their appearence in the writings of women; this holds particularly true regarding fiction: new literary tendencias were the outcome of a changing situation.
