El sonido del vacío Tornero Lorenzo, María Paz Issue 4 of the journal Contra-narratives, directed by the artist Jesús Segura, is edited by Jaime Munárriz and Paz Tornero. Contra-narratives is a co-publication of CENDEAC and VISUM. On this occasion, artist and professor Jaime Munárriz outlines a brief genealogy before introducing us to sound art and its kaleidoscopic perspective, traversed by multiple facets that shape contemporary sound creation. He develops an argument around electroacoustic experimentation, performed sound, speculative sonic drift, and chance as a contingent element for articulating a body of theoretical work, in which the authors reveal processes and procedures of sound creation rooted in a transdisciplinary scene whose classification becomes highly unstable. Likewise, the frequencies, vibrations, oscillations, waves, and sonic signals that permeate the working processes of the proposed authors triangulate an understanding of the sonic creative act in which technology assumes its transgressive condition. Impartiality and neutrality fade, guiding sonic spectra toward new creative forms whose meaning is grounded in “listening.” This is because, in these proposals, sound is understood as experience and understanding that expands the creative bond through listening. Ultimately, these sonic proposals invite us to bear witness to their reverberations, extending the creative act to the listener. 2026-01-16T11:28:54Z 2026-01-16T11:28:54Z 2024-11-01 journal article Tornero, Paz.
